Mains cold water installation you can rely on
The mains supply pipe running from the boundary stopcock into your home is usually the homeowner’s responsibility. In older Wolverhampton properties it’s often lead or galvanised iron, which can restrict flow, corrode and — in the case of lead — affect drinking water.
We replace old supplies with modern blue MDPE pipe sized for today’s demand, which is especially important if you’re fitting a combi boiler or unvented cylinder that relies on good mains pressure.
What we do
- Flow and pressure testing
- Excavation and new supply pipe
- Lead and iron pipe replacement
- New internal stopcock
- Connection to existing plumbing
- Making good and reinstatement
- Pressure testing and leak detection
- Compliance with water authority standards
Signs you need a new supply
- Low pressure everywhereWeak flow at every tap often points to a restricted supply pipe.
- Lead pipeworkDull grey, soft pipe that doesn’t ring when tapped — it should be replaced.
- Fitting a combi or unvented cylinderBoth need good mains pressure to perform properly.
- Extensions and new buildsA new or upgraded supply to serve additional bathrooms.

Something else? Call 07414 114253.
Who is responsible for my water supply pipe?
Generally, the water company is responsible up to the boundary stopcock, and the homeowner is responsible from there into the property.
How do I know if I have lead pipes?
Lead pipe is dull grey, soft and shows a shiny metal if lightly scratched. We can check during a visit.
Will a new supply improve my pressure?
If the old pipe is restricting flow, yes. We test pressure and flow first so we can tell you what to expect.
